After a 13 day or so break…

Filed under: Fast Food, Japanese Food — Tags: , — orsonk @ 5:08 pm

I come to bring you some more food goodness after a break of eating more food =P Anyone know what this is?

P

If you couldn’t guess – its Chashu Ramen - also known as BBQ Pork with Ramen noodles Japanese style. This one was taken at one of those noodle shops in Shinsaibashi in Osaka. You can select a chicken or a beef soup base with your noodles as well. The egg you see there is a soft boiled soya egg I believe, and tastes really good – but not for those who don’t like their eggs runny obviously =) I almost finished the soup as well – it just doesnt feel like those that are made from instant noodle soup packets. If you ever do go to Japan, you must have Ramen – there just isn’t anywhere else that can serve this dish justice. In terms of prices, this one here cost about 400ish yen – roughly less than 5AUD – a bargain! =) And one of these took about 5 – 10 mins of waiting time, so I’ll put it under fast food too.

Until next time ;)

  3. Ramen!!!! Personally I like shoyu ramen the best. Mind you I’d take any good ramen right now. You just can’t get good stuff in Australia.

  4. I know of two places that are decent, but they aren’t cheap like Hanaichi =P One is in Taringa and I think you can get it for about 14.80AUD (Azabu) and the other in St Lucia for about 8 or 9 AUD – it’s at Edamame at Hawken Dr. =)

  5. [...] Presentation wise, I think the huge spoon makes B a whole lot more authentic to the Japanese style. Other than that, they are almost the same! But as you can see, traditional Japanese style is pretty different compared to the ones they offer in this franchise. A semi raw egg, and usually just Chashu – though you can order Chashu ramen both here and HK too. If you want to jog back your memory, go here! [...]
